Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production
The Asia Pacific
Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP) is
the regional network of the professionals, academics and
industrialists to promote Sustainable Consumption and Production in
the region. The membership includes environmental professionals from
all countries in the Asia Pacific region.

North American Roundtable for Cleaner Production, European
Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production, African
Roundtable, South American Roundtable and Mediterranean Roundtable.
The first Asia
Pacific Roundtable for Cleaner Production was held in Bangkok,
Thailand in November 1997. At this inaugural conference, supported
by the ADB and the other international organizations, public and
private sector leaders from more than 25 nations came together to
share information, techniques and issues arising from the promotion
of Cleaner Production policies and practices.
An informal
network then evolved from this landmark conference to become the
Asia Pacific Roundtable on Cleaner Production (APRCP) in 1998 with
the intention of sustaining regional information sharing and
networking. Since then eight conferences have been held in different
countries in Asia Pacific, namely, Thailand, Australia, Philippines,
Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Asia Pacific
Roundtable for Cleaner Production (APRCP) changed its name to Asia
Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP)
at the 5th Regional Conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in
March 2004.
APRSCP’s mission
is to provide leadership and support to enhance information flow and
capacity building and strengthen public/private partnerships. APRSCP
seeks to stimulate the promotion and implementation of sustainable
consumption and production strategies and technologies in the
region. It encourages the participation of all individuals and all
national, regional and international organizations, in the promotion
of sustainable consumption and production practices.
