Firming energy conservation in Sri Lanka through capacity development; Energy Managers Training programme, 2017


Energy is common to almost every global challenge the world faces today. Because of that energy plays a pivotal role in top global agendas for sustainability. Having identified the need of enhancing knowledge on energy management in Sri Lanka, NCPC Sri Lanka designed a 3 day Energy Managers training programme.

The training programme was held on 18th, 19th and 20th July 2017 in Colombo. 28 participants from different industries took part in this programme. An eminent resource panel enlightened the training with their knowledge and experience such as on Energy Information System Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and reporting, Energy codes and standards, energy conservation in air conditioning, lighting, fluid machinery, furnaces and energy measuring equipment. Lectures were conducted by senior university lectures and experienced energy consultants.

NCPC became an accredited institute in Sri Lanka to provide training on energy auditing under Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA). This programme has designed in complying with the requirements of SLSEA covering the recommended syllabus for Energy Managers Accreditation.
