EIA or IEE are the accepted tools to evaluate in advance, the environmental impacts likely to be arisen from the development projects which are significantly affecting the environment. The EIA process requires a review of national legislation, an in-depth understanding of the proposed development including the technologies to be used, existing environmental baseline studies, impact assessment and the development of an environmental management plan (EMP) based on the acquired information, to minimize negative impacts and maximize positive effects during the project life time..
A limited environmental study is carried out during the IEE process to determine whether potentially adverse environmental effects are significant or whether mitigation measures can be adopted to reduce or eliminate these adverse effects.
The Central Environmental Authority CEA) specifies the need of undertaking the EIA or IEE for each project case by case before granting the approval for the development projects. NCPC as a registered service provider maintains a competent EIA team consists of highly professional, skilled and motivated individuals as Environmentalists, Sociologists and Engineers, to conduct the full EIA/IEE studies in various fields. Providing a well-compiled report during the short feasible time frame at a quite affordable price is the intension of NCPC when delivering this service.
