At a time where there was limited resources and experts, National Cleaner Production Centre had commenced the Consultant Development Training Programme on Quantification of Carbon Footprint Responding to the continuous demand from the industries. As for systematic training program, National Cleaner Production Centre, Sri Lanka is calling for the 8th consecutive training programme on Consultant development in carbon footprint quantification based on ISO 14064-1, 2: 2018 & ISO 14067: 2019 new revised standards. Throughout the years this training program has been gradually updated to the current content accordance to the industry demands and current trends.
What is Carbon Footprint?
Carbon footprint is the foremost demanding indicator that interprets the organizational stake of the climate change and global warming potential of your organization, product and supply chain. ISO 14064-1-2:2018 and ISO 14067: 2019 new revised standards are available now for guiding you on quantifying carbon footprint in a way that it can be certified with a third party.
Following this training program enables to obtain eligibility for the personal certification of Consultants in Carbon Footprint Quantification according to the ISO 17024 (General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons).
The Programme consists of an academic component which conducts as Class Room sessions with lectures & case studies and one site visit to a given industry. Other than that, two hours in the evening (one hour from the second consecutive day) is allocated to discuss some exercises considering participant’s convenience and need of understanding the precise methodology. Content of the Programme (Five days);
- Requirements of ISO 14064-1:2018 GHG inventory management, Quality management and report preparation etc.
- International standards, protocols, guidelines and methodologies for CFP quantification/li>
- Requirements of ISO 14067:2018
- Introduction to Lifecycle assessment (ISO 14044:2006)
- Calculation of Carbon Footprint of an organization, products & project with accordance to ISO 14064
- Project level measures for GHG removals (Conducting case studies based on existing scenarios of the factory)
- Quantification of GHG removals and offsetting procedures
- International finance approach for low carbon projects
This 5 days training program consists of an online session on 13th December, in class sessions on 14th -16th December at Hotel Janaki, Colombo 05 and an onsite field assessment on17th December 2021.
The practical component of the programme consists of a field exercise on data collection, calculation and identification of GHG emissions reduction measures in an organization.
Performance of the participants will be evaluated continuously with attendance, assignments, quizzes given at the end of each day.
Upon successful Completion of the programme certificate will be awarded to the participants at the end of the program.
Eligibility for persons Certifications Scheme
Participants who have successfully completed the course will be eligible to get certified under the accredited scheme of ISO 17024:2012. Certified Persons will be awarded with locally and internationally valid certificate and identity card with a registration after successful completion of the assessment process. http://www.ncpcsrilanka.org/certification-of-persons/
The fee for participation will be LKR. 28,500/= per person inclusive of course materials, industry visits, all meals and refreshments.
