Water Management & LCA Division
Mr. Asela Ruwan Kumara is a Resource Efficient & Cleaner Production (RECP) Expert with a strong track record in driving industrial transformation toward low-carbon and resource-efficient operations. He holds a B.Sc. Special Degree in Industrial Management from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and an M.Sc. in Environmental Management from the University of Kelaniya. He serves in the Water Management and Life Cycle Assessment Division of the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC), Sri Lanka.
With involvement in over 200 industrial sustainability interventions, Mr. Asela has guided manufacturing and commercial sectors in embedding environmental intelligence into operational and strategic decision-making. His work spans RECP Assessments, Water Audits, Water Meter Verification studies, Water Footprint Assessments, Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Waste Audits, specialized flow measurements, solid waste management initiatives, and air quality assessments. He has conducted professional training programs for local and international stakeholders, strengthening institutional and industry capacity in sustainability implementation.
He has contributed to nationally and internationally funded initiatives and has served as Project Coordinator for international programs, fostering cross-sector collaboration and scalable sustainability innovation. Through advisory services, capacity building, and evidence-based methodologies, Mr. Asela continues to shape sustainable industrial development and climate-resilient business practices in the region.
