Ms. Madhubhashanee Weerasinghe is an environmental sustainability professional with over eight years of professional experience in environmental management, resource efficiency, and climate-responsive development. She leads the Project Development Division at the National Cleaner Production Centre Sri Lanka, where she plays a key role in identifying strategic funding opportunities and developing competitive, high-quality project proposals for international donor agencies, including EU Switch Asia, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, etc.
Her work focuses on Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP), circular economy approaches, waste management, forest carbon accounting, and the climate-responsive development of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Ms. Madhubhashanee holds a BSc Special Degree in Environmental Management and Forestry from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and MSc in Climate Change and Environmental Management at the University of Colombo, specializing in forest carbon accounting and climate mitigation strategies. She is also a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems and has completed the Consultant Development Programme in Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production.
