About the Conference…
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted in 2015, marked a transformative milestone in the global pursuit of sustainability. In the same year, the European Union adopted its first circular economy action plan, and globally, there has been a growing pledge to adopt Circular Economy principles. As a country, Sri Lanka is aligning with this global trend, manufacturers and suppliers adapting Circular Economy practices.
In this context, the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) of Sri Lanka, as the pioneer sustainability service provider, organized the 1st International Conference on Circular Economy in 2020. Building on the momentum of global summits, the NCPC continued to expand its impact with a successful 2nd Conference in 2022.
Meanwhile, ISO has introduced the new series of Circular Economy standards, as ISO 59000 series (ISO 59004 – Vocabulary, principles and guidance for implementation, ISO 59010 – Guidance on the transition of business models and value networks, ISO 59020 – Measuring and assessing circularity performance, ISO 59040 – Product circularity data sheet) for further driving global consistency and progress.
Capturing those newest global trends, the NCPC will host the 3rd International Conference on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy in 2025. This event aims to enlighten and inspire businesses on the circular economy transition.
With more than 10 distinguished international experts, this conference promises to be an invaluable experience for all participants. The highlight of the upcoming conference is the participation of international experts, who will bring cutting edge knowledge and proven strategies from around the world to benefit Sri Lankan industries.
