This programme is designed to build practical capacity in conducting Life Cycle Assessment studies for products and industrial systems using internationally recognized methodologies and professional LCA software tools.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is increasingly used worldwide to evaluate the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycle from raw material extraction to production, use, and end-of-life. The methodology is widely applied in areas such as product sustainability assessment, carbon foot printing, eco-design, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and sustainability reporting.

This training programme will provide participants with both conceptual understanding and practical experience, enabling them to develop and interpret LCA models aligned with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards.

Participants will also gain hands-on experience using SimaPro, one of the world’s most widely used Life Cycle Assessment software tools.

Programme schedule

This is a five (5) days programme

  • One-Day Online Program: Immerse yourself in insights from international speakers.
  • Three-Day Classroom Sessions at National Cleaner Production center, Nugegoda
  • One-Day In-Plant Assessment: Explore a large-scale manufacturing plant to witness real-world applications.

Dates

  • Batch 1: – 23rd (Online), 24th, 28th (Field Visit), 29th and 30th April 2026
  • Batch 2: – 23rd (Online), 25th, 28th (Field Visit) April 2nd and 3rd May 2026

Certificate and Fees:

A certificate will be issued after the evaluation of participants and continuous assessment during the course.

Course fee:

  • LKR 68,500 +++ per person (Inclusive of handouts and all meals).
  • The participants have to register for the programme making the full payment and enrolment will be on a first come first served basis.
