Ms. Shammi is a dedicated environmental and food safety professional with a strong academic and technical background. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Food Science and Technology from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and a Master’s degree in Crop Protection and Plant Biotechnology from the University of Kelaniya. She is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Environmental Science at the Open University of Sri Lanka.

She serves as a Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Expert in the Ecolabel Division at the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) Sri Lanka. In this role, she functions as an Environmental Auditor, supporting industries in improving environmental performance, resource efficiency, and compliance with sustainability standards.

Ms. Shammi possesses expertise in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, HACCP, GMP, and Environmental Management Systems. She is a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems and FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management Systems.

She has participated in numerous local and international training programmes in food safety and has received specialized training at the CODEX Division of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), further strengthening her knowledge of international food safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
