“Resource Efficient Cleaner Production (RECP) Assessment and Capacity Building programme for Local Industries” project is a one-year project funded by the Ministry of Industries.
Project benefits
- Improve resource efficiency (energy, water, and material) of selected industries in Sri Lanka
- Develop a Resource Efficient Manager within the industry
- Develop capacity among the staff of selected industries on RECP
- Encourage other industries in these sectors to follow the RECP concept

- Metal, Die & Mould and Machinery Sector
- Textile Sector
- Leather and Footwear Sector
- Cosmetic Sector
- Ceramic, Tile, Porcelain & Granite Industries Sector
- Boat Building and Allied Industries Sector
- Rubber, Plastic and Allied Industries Sector
- Automobile Component Manufacturing & Assembling Industries Sector
- Mineral & Mineral Based product Industries Sector
- Paint, Printing Materials and Chemical Industries Sector
- Wood & Wood Based Industries Sector
- Processed Food Industries Sector (Including Dairy Products, Coconuts based Products and Spices Sector)
- Packaging Industries Sector
Eligibility Criteria
- Manufacturing plant should be located within Western Province
- Commitment to current and future works in sustainable practices
