“Resource Efficient Cleaner Production (RECP) Assessment and Capacity Building programme for Local Industries” project is a one-year project funded by the Ministry of Industries.

Project benefits

  • Improve resource efficiency (energy, water, and material) of selected industries in Sri Lanka
  • Develop a Resource Efficient Manager within the industry
  • Develop capacity among the staff of selected industries on RECP
  • Encourage other industries in these sectors to follow the RECP concept

  • Leather and Footwear Sector
  • Cosmetic Sector
  • Ceramic, Tile, Porcelain & Granite Industries Sector
  • Boat Building and Allied Industries Sector
  • Rubber, Plastic and Allied Industries Sector
  • Automobile Component Manufacturing & Assembling Industries Sector
  • Mineral & Mineral Based product Industries Sector
  • Paint, Printing Materials and Chemical Industries Sector
  • Wood & Wood Based Industries Sector
  • Processed Food Industries Sector (Including Dairy Products, Coconuts based Products and Spices Sector)
  • Packaging Industries Sector

Eligibility Criteria

  • Manufacturing plant should be located within Western Province
  • Commitment to current and future works in sustainable practices
