Senior RECP Expert

Ms. Hiruni Kumaratunga holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries Biology from the University of Ruhuna and a Master of Science in Aquaculture from the University of Nordland, Norway.
With over a decade of professional experience in conformity assessment and accreditation, Ms. Kumaratunga previously served as Assistant Director at the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB). In this role, she managed a broad portfolio of conformity assessment standards and functioned as a Team Leader and Assessor for ISO 17025, ISO 15189, ISO 17020, ISO 17021, ISO 17029, and ISO 17065.
Her contributions to the certification sector include the development and expansion of multiple certification schemes, notably playing a key role in establishing and securing recognition for the Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) scheme. In addition, she is a qualified Lead Auditor for FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and also GHG Lead Verifier/Validator.
Currently she serves as a Senior RECP Expert, leading the certification division at National Cleaner Production Centre.
