Eng. Piyushani Wanigasinghe is a materials engineering professional specializing in sustainable industrial development and resource-efficient technologies. She currently serves as a Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Engineer within the Project Development Division of the National Cleaner Production Centre Sri Lanka contributing to the identifying strategic funding opportunities and the preparation of technically sound, competitive project proposals for international development partners, including EU SWITCH-Asia, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and etc.
Eng. Piyushani’s work focuses on resource efficiency, cleaner production strategies, sustainable materials applications, and circular economy–driven industrial solutions. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, with a Minor in English for Engineering Purposes. She gained industrial experience in electronic manufacturing, contributing to process improvement and quality optimization initiatives, alongside her involvement in research and academic leadership activities.
